Q) How is Hyaluronic Acid used different than other Hyaluronic used in treatments?

A) Not all Hyaluronic is made equal. What determines the quality of a Hyaluronic depends on several aspects; one of with is the molecular structure. Dp Dermaceuticals patented HyaluFuse Complex enhances the delivery of biologically active Hyaluronic Acid and key performance active ingredients. It actually contains 3 molecular sizes of Hyaluronic; small, medium and large for different levels of penetration into the skin promoting change superficially, as well as a deep penetration for increased, more permanent change. Q) Is MicroNeedling painful?

A) Having the option for application of a strong numbing cream ensures that you’ll experience no discomfort with treatment. However, few people have decided to request MicroNeedling with no numbing cream. Previously, we’ve actually performed a light Microdermabrasion (to remove the top layer of dead skin cells) prior to completing a MicroNeedling Treatment. These few individuals still returned; mostly agreeing to using numbing cream first. However, some still feel it’s not needed. Pain tolerance has a slight effect on whether or not you choose to numb prior to treatment. There’s no scientific proof that applying numbing cream will inhibit deeper product penetration. When using a MicroNeedling device it creates channels within the skin allowing product to infuse at the depth level according to settings of the device. Some people may feel more comfortable not using numbing cream and tolerate this treatment perfectly. Premier allows the patient to make this decision; however, we stand by our perspective; numbing cream takes away the small amount of discomfort and doesn’t prevent the infusion process of important Dermaceuticals to make optimal changes to your skin.

Q) How does MicroNeedling work?

A) MicroNeedling Treatments work by using a new, sterile needle each session that oscillates very quickly creating channels in the skin allowing a blend of customized Dermaceuticals to penetrate the skin; creating instant, as well as long-term changes to the skin. Depending on each individual’s goals, we have specific techniques to achieve the desired results. In addition, the “micro-injury” it causes to the superficial layers to the skin force your own fibroblasts to create more collagen essentially healing itself. The more cellular turnover and fibroblast activity in everyone’s skin improves the texture, tightening of the skin (Anti-aging), and smooth out scarring (typically caused by Acne). However, we may use the device on different parts of the body for scarring and dark spots for firming, cellulite, stretch marks, and scars.

Q) Micro-injury to the skin sounds scary; how bad are these injuries?

A) MicroNeedling Treatments at Premier Face and Bodywork are always performed with a device called the Dermapen (specifically Dermapen 4). The channels are created by very small, thin needles that can superficially penetrate the skin. Settings with most treatments (skin tightening, anti-aging & dark spots) don’t penetrate deep into the skin; therefore the very thin needle makes a very small insertion, only needing a superficial depth for Dermaceutical ingredients to work effectively. By creating micro-injury to the skin, it then initiates the increase of collagen production. The side effect is perfect for skin tightening from extra collagen production. In addition, it makes the perfect treatment for scarring and imperfections within the skin. You’ll immediately see smaller-looking pore size, smoother skin texture, and tighter skin.

Q) Whats the difference between MicroNeedling, Vampire Facial, Microchannel, and many more names of treatments that sound the same?

A) Not much difference in these treatments; with the exception of Vampire Facial: Depending on the device used, many companies feel the need to change the name of the treatment without changing the process. Several new devices are calling this “MicroChanneling” for example. This procedure is still using the same size needles and penetrating the skin creating channels; ultimately penetrating product and creating microinjury. It may be done with a different technique; however, Dermapen has the same abilities to perform that same technique. Vampire Facial is a little different. This is done by drawing your blood, using a Centrifuge to spin the blood and separating the plasma. This technique to MicroNeedling plasma into your face (or skin in general) has no scientific proof to be anymore effective than treatment with high quality Dermaceuticals. Therefore, Premier is very much against drawing blood and Needling plasma into the skin. The risk involved with contamination among other things; we’ve chosen to only use new, sterile needles with every service; and penetrating high quality products into the skin.

Q) Why does a treatment with Dermapen cost more than other treatments?

A) The Dermapen 4 has put in place newer technology than any other device on the market; not only with the device itself, but with the advanced products now created to use pre and post treatment for increased, more permanent results. Each sterile needle is a one-time, single use needle costing $30. If a company with low enough standards to reuse a needle, the device will not perform or even turn on; preventing the possibility of reuse of a needle. Its Bluetooth connect ability keeps track of every treatment done, calibrates according to specific treatment (if desired), and now oscillates at a much higher rate: 2,900 channels per second. Compared to the Dermapen 3, which only could create 1,300 channels per second, it blows away their device as well as any other on the market. The results increase more than double the amount of product infusion as well as collagen production within your skin.
